How to use downy ball12/5/2023 ![]() ![]() The Downy Ball will help to evenly distribute the Lysol Laundry Sanitizer throughout your load of laundry, ensuring that every item is properly sanitized. Simply add the required amount of Lysol Laundry Sanitizer to the Downy Ball and follow the instructions on the package. At least they still serve a little bit of a purpose. Yes, you can use the Downy Ball for Lysol Laundry Sanitizer. Can't remember if they were 99 cents or $1.99 each. Back in the late 1990s, I had a roommate who had a Downy Ball and I thought it was a neat little thing that I eventually got around to buying my own set of six. I have six of those Downy Balls that I bought from Walmart a few years back. I immediately take the balls back so as not to misplace them in the laundry center. I do not mind the exercise in checking in at the right time to manually open the dispensers to pour in the contents right after the first spin has finished. You pour the softener in this ball at the beginning of the load, and toss it in with the clothing and detergent, and it is designed to release the softener during the final rinse cycle. Sometimes, the balls get stuck between an agitator fin and the tub or end up hiding up a pant leg *and still unopened!* Therefore, I am more than satisfied in using the little dispensers for transporting small quantities of Downy into the laundry center. First, you can use a softener ball, the most common of which is the Downy ball. DEEP CLEANSING FABRIC RINSE: Downy Rinse & Refresh replaces your liquid fabric softener and acts as a laundry detergent booster to help remove stubborn odors and residues in fabrics. The balls do not always pop open to release their fabric softener. A breakthrough laundry odor remover that helps rinse away the smelly residue trapped within fabric fibers. Try washing it with soap and water, then reusing. Personally, I choose not to put the Downy Balls into our coin operated machines. Downy balls can get clogged with their own Downy crud after awhile. ![]()
